L.A. city of Directors

So I am in Los Angeles, California and you couldn't believe how many music videos they shoot every day. The shoot 2 just in downtown L.A. alone and they are always making a tv show or a movie. So just about everyone in making a video, a movie, a comic book, or publishing a book. NPD Blues are shooting write in downtown L.A. and that is really cool cause you can talk to the cast and crew and a bunch of people like extras, the light guys, or the assistant directors.

ok...so what's you're point? we all know that LA is brimming with directors and other creative types. Was there a moral to your story?

Well sometimes I get the urge to see for myself what all those great movie directors saw when they came to L.A. and Hollywood. I mean I read Robert Rodriguez book Rebel Without A Crew and I restepped his steps like when he was in front of ICM(International Creative Management)or when I went to USC(University of Southern California)and saw what George Lucas saw or when I passed through the studio Speilberg entered through when he was younger. I came to L.A and wrote this I needed to feel alive again, make sure my dream could become a reality, and see what the people who make films thought about what I was doing. So I guess the point is that I wanted you all to see what I saw because that is what a lot of directors saw once and mabe it will give hope to the new directors out there that are unsure about pursuing this career called filmmaking.

Right on. Didn't mean to sound so cynical. LA is a great place...full of energy. But the thing I like most about it is that it is a city of big dreamers. Kind of a cool element.

And its in the state with, in my opinion, the best natural scenery in the world.

LA might have many bad elements but that makes it even better. To me it does anyway.

I live in LA. And it is, quite a spectacular place. Full of dreamers as someone said, and with the best natural scenery. In the 8 years I lived here I must have seen at least 30 projects being filmed around me. Adn I must have seen about 20 celbrities, and also have had the honor of meeting such people as Bob Barker, from "The Price is Right" wich is an American game show, so I don't know if you get it in England or Scotland. Also Giovanni Ribisi (Saving Private Ryan, Boiler Room, Suburbia), Beck (the best musician ever). Indeed this is quite a city, and has some amazing things in it that you can't see anywhere else.

Theres a lot of ideas in the air, and most of the people are kinda on their edge. Everyone is holding on. Weather is starnge, it could be 100 degrees one day, then 60 degress the next day, and raining. Sometimes I feel that I want to stay here forever, but other days I can't stand this place and want to get the hell out. This is one wierd place. A magical starnge place.

It sure is a nice city for dreamers. I feel that everyone understands me, my dream, and what I am looking for in life. Los Angeles, California city of Directors that's for sure.
